Arcora

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

This policy explains what information Rootr Software LLC ("Rootr", "we"), the company that operates Arcora, collects when you use the Arcora app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Arcora connects drivers with independent charging networks. Those networks run the chargers and handle your charging sessions, as described below.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to run your account, take payment and find chargers near you.
  • Your card details are held by Stripe. Arcora never sees your full card number.
  • The charging network you use receives what it needs to run your session.
  • We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the app or by email.

What we collect

Account information

Your name, email address and password when you sign up, and, if you add them, your phone number and preferred connector type. Sign-in is provided by Clerk, which stores this information for us. Passwords are stored by Clerk in hashed form; we never see them.

Payment information

When you add a card, it goes directly to Stripe, our payment processor. Arcora receives only the card's brand, last four digits and expiry date, and a Stripe reference to the card, so we can show it to you and charge it for sessions you start.

Location

If you allow it, the app uses your device's location while you're using it to show chargers near you. Your position is rounded to about 100 meters and sent, through Arcora's servers, to the charging networks to find nearby chargers. Arcora passes it on without storing it, and does not track your location in the background. You can turn location off in your device settings; the app will still work, showing chargers around a default area instead.

Camera

The camera is used only to scan a charger's QR code. Scanning happens on your device; images are not stored or sent anywhere.

Charging sessions

When you start a session, the charging network running that charger records it: the charger, start and end times, energy delivered, cost, and the brand and last four digits of the card used. The app reaches each network through Arcora's servers, and Arcora keeps its own record of the same session details, linked to your account, to show you your history, to bill and support sessions, and to give networks reports on their chargers.

Information stored on your device

The app keeps a few things on your phone so it works smoothly: your saved chargers, your chosen charging network and your notification preferences. These stay on your device.

Operator accounts

If you register a charging network on our website, we also collect your network's name, its backend address, a support email and the results of connection checks.

How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To show chargers, start and stop sessions, and show live progress and receipts.
  • To charge your card for sessions you start and to handle refunds and disputes.
  • To send you messages about your account and sessions, such as verification codes.
  • To keep Arcora safe: preventing fraud and misuse, and fixing problems.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.

Who we share it with

Charging networks

Each charging network on Arcora runs its own system. When you use one of its chargers, it receives your Arcora account ID, the session details above and the brand and last four digits of your card. When you search for chargers, it receives your rounded location. In its Arcora dashboard, a network sees its sessions with drivers shown by first name and last initial (for example, “Jordan P.”), never your email or full card number. Each network handles that information under its own privacy policy, and keeps session records as its financial records require.

Service providers

We use Clerk for sign-in and Stripe for payments, and hosting providers to run our servers. They process information only to provide their service to us.

Legal reasons and business changes

We may share information when the law requires it, to protect the safety and rights of users and others, or as part of a merger or sale of Arcora, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and sign-in and remove your saved cards from Stripe. Charging networks keep receipts for past sessions, and Stripe and we keep payment records, for as long as tax and financial rules require.

Your choices and rights

  • See and correct your name, phone and connector preference in the app under Settings.
  • Delete your account in the app under Settings, or follow the steps on our account deletion page.
  • Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us anything about it, by emailing privacy@rootrsoftware.com.
  • Location and camera can be turned off at any time in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as the rights California residents have under the CCPA to know, delete and correct their information and not be discriminated against for using these rights. Email privacy@rootrsoftware.com to use them. We will verify your request using your account email.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are short-lived and stored in your device's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Arcora is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
